What is Sak Yant?

Sak Yant, also known as Yantra tattoos or sacred Thai tattoos, represents one of the world's most profound and spiritually significant tattooing traditions. Far more than mere body art, these sacred designs serve as powerful talismans believed to offer protection, blessings, and spiritual guidance to their bearers.

The tradition originated in what is now the Khmer Empire, flourished from the 9th to the 15th centuries, and encompasses parts of modern-day Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. Each Sak Yant tattoo is created through a sacred ritual process that involves consultation, meditation, prayer, and blessing.
